Pakistan has 29 national parks which are also known as protected areas. The largest park is Central Karakorum National Park in Gilgit-Baltistan and smallest is the Ayub National Park in Rawalpindi Punjab. These parks have spectacular and picturesque landscape consisting of desert, forest, small hilly areas to gigantic mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan, including the K-2.
National parks in Gilgit-Baltistan
In Gilgit-Baltistan, there are four national parks and the largest national park of Pakistan is in the GB. The four national parks are: Deosai National Park, Central Karakoram National Park, K-2 National Park and Khunjerab National Park.
The wilderness, uniqueness and serene beauty of the national parks in GB has no parallel. The national parks are spanned over thousands of thousands of square kilometers and the landscapes have a shaft turn and differences among the four parks. For instance, the Deosai Plains are spanned over a vast area and in summer the park turns into a green carpeted lands with blooming flowers hanging the fragrance in the air, and the peaks in and around the park are low altitude and grassy.
When we talk about the K-2 and Central Karakoram National Park, these two are spanned over an area with densely packed hills and towering rocky mountains including the peak of K-2. The parks' peaks are high in altitude and low in greenery, these have limited and in some cases no wood on the peaks. The peaks would be consisting of solid rocks, even there would be no existence of soil from the half of the mountain structure.

The national parks in Balochistan, especially the Hingol National Park, would give you the opportunity to enjoy long drive sighting the sand dunes and unique rock formations.
